I answered her. Then I shouted.
Louise talks to Hugo about repeated questions, exhaustion and losing patience. Watch their short fictional conversation on The Dementia Companion.
Transcript
Louise: I answered her six times, Hugo. On the seventh, I shouted.
Hugo: And now you're upset about that as well.
Louise: Everyone says, remember, she can't help it. I know she can't help it. I'm still exhausted.
Hugo: Knowing why it happens doesn't give you endless patience.
Louise: She kept asking when my sister was coming. I wrote it down. She still asked.
Hugo: Maybe she needed reassurance more than the time. She's coming after lunch. I'll wait with you, might help.
Louise: And when I'm about to shout again...
Hugo: If Mum's safe, take a short pause. And tell your sister you need some relief, not another reminder to be patient.
